Ask Me if I Care About 'Mishandling' of Koran -- Doug Patton -- GOPUSA

Ask Me if I Care About 'Mishandling' of Koran -- Doug Patton -- GOPUSA:

This is going around as written by a different person, so I went to snopes and found out that it was actually written by Doug Patton and posted on the GOPUSA site and that lady ended up forwarding it around the internet and a year later it is still making the rounds.

I got it today from the president of a Financial firm.

Here is the original article. The words are tough, but Newsweek and the leftist media need to grow up and take responsibility for the people who died and the lives damaged by their spreading of lies.

Ask Me if I Care About 'Mishandling' of Koran
By Doug Patton
June 6, 2005

First, Newsweek pulled a Dan Rather on us, running a fabricated story just because they wanted it to be true. They told the world that an American guard at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, detention center had ripped pages from a prisoner's Koran and flushed it down a toilet. As a result, innocent people died when practitioners of Islam rioted in protest in Afghanistan.

Oops, said Newsweek, it seems we can't back up our story. Oh well, it's probably true; we just can't prove it. (Isn't it convenient for Newsweek that the media now have "Deep Throat" to talk about so they can revel in their glory days and divert our attention from their criminal negligence.)

The lie heard round the world about the flushed Koran has caused convulsions in the Bush Administration and forced the Pentagon to launch an investigation of unfounded allegations contained in an unsubstantiated story. The results of said investigation are now in, and it seems there are at least five incidents of "mishandling" of the Koran at Gitmo.

Well, guess what? I don't care!

Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia.

I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling, slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

I'll care when Clinton-appointed judges stop ordering my government to release photos of the abuses at Abu Ghraib, which are sure to set off the Islamic extremists just as Newsweek's lies did a few weeks ago.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college hazing incident, rest assured that I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts that I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and -- you guessed it -- I don't care!

URGENT: Action Required. Pass this on and ACT today!

Letter to the FTC!

Have you written your letters to your Represntatives in Washington and to the FTC yet? This new FTC regulation could be the biggest boondoogle from our Government since the prohobition in the 20s. I am dead serious.

Under this new Rule, several oppressive and burdensome requirements will be initiated for both companies and Distributors alike. In fact, under this Rule it will be easier to buy a hand gun or assault rifle.

Here a few of the items this new regulation contains:

  • Create new definitions of “business opportunity,” “business assistance” and “earnings claim,” creating broad language to encompass many common business practices.

  • Require that a detailed “disclosure statement” be given at least seven days before any prospective purchaser signs a contract or makes payment to the business assistance provider.

  • Require that the business opportunity “disclosure statement” include information such as previous lawsuits, the number of previous purchasers who have canceled within two years and a list of “references” i.e., purchasers of the opportunity in the previous three years.

  • Require business opportunity sellers who make earnings claims to provide an additional “Earnings Claim Statement” to prospective purchasers, which would include extensive audited earnings disclosures that would need to be frequently updated.

We only have until July 17th to let the Federal Trade Commission hear the voice of the millions of direct sellers who have a stake in the future of this profession.

It is the voice of the distributors that will have the greatest impact as they learn how women and men with families are counting on the additional income their part or full-time businesses provide. The FTC must hear from you - the individuals putting their children through college, saving for retirement, reducing their consumer debt and providing a better quality of life for their families. They especially need to hear from those of you who are full-time direct sellers so they understand that this as the viable profession we all know it to be. Take a stand - July 17th is almost here!

To view the complete ruling (approximately 117 pages) of the Business Opportunity Rule, click here to visit the related page on the web site of the Federal Trade Commission.

Click here for a sample letter that is provided to serve as a guideline to create a dynamic, personal response. The FTC will accept comments only through July 17, 2006; thus, this is a time-sensitive issue. PLEASE ACT TODAY!

    Great Leadership Example

Thought I'd share another positive note I received about Tim Darnell of Advantage Conferences.
The pack will only travel as fast as the leader.
What a great example Tim set with his SYG initiative. Great leadership is so hard to find in today's society. Fortunately we don't have to look very far in our organization. This initiave not only helps us monetarily, but sets the standard for how we should carry ourselves as leaders.
Jack needs to take a bow as well. His vision and leadership is awesome, just a fantastic learning experience for me.
Thank you both for adding another set of rocket boosters to our businesses.

With People that I know and trust saying these sorts of positive things about Tim and Advantage Conferences, those "scam" comments on open forums by annonymous writers look silly don't they.

Further Proof -- Advantage Conferences' Tim Darnel

Today, I received the following email from a friend who has met Tim many times and is very thankful for who Tim is and what he has done in this man's life:
    Tim,
I just wanted to say thank you for living your life according to the direction of the Holy Spirit, and for giving of yourself to the benefit of us all. SYG (sic Slay Your Giant, Tim's new book) is not only such an transformational tool that has changed my life, but now it will be available to help change countless others. We are blessed to be a part of Advantage Conferences, and thank God for leading us to share in your vision. We are looking forward to building
"Treasures For The Kingdom" with you, and all of Team AC for many years to come.
    Your brother in Christ,
    Sam

all these things shall be added unto you"

Something wrong said about Tim Darnell needs to be corrected

Apparently Tim Darnell, CEO of Advantage Conferences, has done something right. He has people who don't know anything about him writing horrible things about him as a person and about his company using words like "scam".

Having met Tim, and having known him for more than 8 months, I have seen into the real man. He has a mission to help entrepreneurs in all kinds of industries get invaluable information from people who have become millionaires and multi-millionaires in a amazing array of industries and fields. He also has a mission to raise very large sums of monies for faith-based organizations. And, he also has a foundation which doesn't just talk about doing good by has put faith into action and done a lot of good.

His young company and what it offers unique to the marketplace is just what it seems on the many sites representing it around the internet. 'Nough said.

He is getting the fundraising mission off the ground and appears to be well on the road to raising hundreds of millions of dollars for faith-based organizations.

His foundation has already in the short time that it has been around supported orphanages in Guatemala, and low income families living in bad neighborhoods around America.

On a regular basis he also serves as a chaplain for a prison, and he is active in his local church.

Just like any slanderous/liabelous things you hear or read, you should attempt to understand from what you hear or read if the author/speaker really knows what they are saying or if they have an alternate motive for slamming on a person.

Personally, I am tired of all the negative in this world. If I were tempted to be persuaded by something I read on an open forum, and I had no other place to turn, I'd call that person and talk with them in person. If they were selling me or too slick to be believable, then I might believe the slander, but if while talking to the person I felt the honesty and knew they just weren't the horrible person that I read about then I'd chose to ignore the negative.

Believe what you want, but I chose to believe what I have seen with my eyes and heard with my ears. The proof is in the fruit being born out in his life.
